Tommy Hunt Live !
This has got to be the best start to any Modchester weekender -  a live appearance from the legendary US Soul Star Mr Tommy Hunt. And what a treat it was, with Tommy performing a custom-made set of all his early 60s Mod Club classics and current Hideaway Club anthems. The set included such favourites as Work Song, Human, Lover, Never Love A Robin, Didn't I Tell You, Poor Millionaire and the classic that is I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself. Completely and utterly unbeatable. We were even joined for the night by original Liverpudlian 60s Mod hero Steve Aldo who dropped by to see his "old mate" Tommy.

Saturday Afternoon 25th July 2009
From Grant Green to Ocean Colour Scene
The Modchester Saturday afternoon session is always a relaxed affair and this year was no difference. A good turnout of scooters was matched with 50 years of Mod Sounds on the decks. Special mention goes to guest DJs John and Lee with some nice early Soul and R&B tunes. This year, due to unforseen circumstances, we only managed to secure the services of one of the dynamic Hoss and Banks duo with Roger Banks stepping in to comandeer the legendary last hour R&B spot and make it his own. Well done that man.

During the Saturday afternoon session we were joined by the boys and girls from mod and scooter scene clothes retailers Scoots, Suits and Boots making a push in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust charity. The guys are launching their "Give The Boot to Teenage Cancer" campaign on 12 September at Oddies Bar in Royton (Greater Manchester). It would be great if you could give this event your support. The Hideaway Club
Saturday night of Modchester 2009 saw resident DJs Paul, Mike & Neil joined by special guests Roger Banks, Mikey Collins from Glasgow's Friday Street Mod Club and Hideaway debutante Bill Kealy all the way from Wexford. With a record crowd and a packed dancefloor all night - how could we go wrong. Even with a cheaky extra half hour of tuneage at the end of the night the bumper crowd refused to go home. That's the only way to end a Mod weekender...
